Who we are
Protected Hour is published by Quiet Oak Press. When you buy from this site you are dealing with Dean Franklin, trading as Quiet Oak Press, based in Somerset, England. We look after the information described here.
What we collect, and why
When you place an order, we collect what we need to fulfil it: your name, email address, delivery address, and the details of your order. Your payment is handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.
When you join our mailing list, we collect your email address and preferred name. That way we can send you the material you asked for, and the odd update along the way. You can leave the list any time using the link at the foot of every email.
When you visit the site, our host may note some standard technical details, such as your IP address and browser type. This simply helps keep the site secure and running well.
Who we share it with
We only share your details with the services that make your order and our emails work.
Lulu, our print and delivery partner, receives the name and address needed to print and post your book. You can read their privacy policy on the Lulu website.
MailerLite, our email service, holds your email address and preferred name so we can send you what you asked for. You can read their privacy policy on the MailerLite website.
Our payment provider handles your payment securely. We never sell your details, and we never pass them on for anyone else’s marketing.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Some are needed for the site and the checkout to work. One remembers that you have signed up, so you can download our free material across the site without filling in your details each time. We do not use cookies to follow you around other websites.
Content from other sites
Some pages may include content from elsewhere, such as videos. These behave as though you had visited that other site directly, and those sites may collect information about you under their own terms.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we are required to for accounting, tax, and legal reasons. We keep your mailing list details until you leave the list or ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. The one exception is anything we are legally required to keep. To make a request, email us at hello@protectedhour.com.
